Dr. John Crimmins, President

As husband, father, and pastor, John is passionate for Christ, the Bible and the body of Christ. In his early career, John worked as a surveyor and estimator in highway construction. Since concluding his M.Div in 1984, John has served Presbyterian churches in Detroit, Miami, and Houston. He was Senior Pastor at Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Houston from 2000 through 2014.

In 2005, John began to conduct equipping workshops for poor and under-equipped pastors. That work developed into what is today, Global Pastor Training. John received the Doctor of Ministry degree from Westminster Theological Seminary in 2017.

Debra Crimmins, Vice-President

Debbie is a soul-winner and cheerleader for Jesus and His gospel. She has been John’s strongest support and advocate in launching GPT. She and John have been married for 44 years. Their son, John IV, lives and works in San Francisco where he and his wife, Poonam, are expecting their first child in September.

Gene Jorgensen, Secretary

Gene is the Founder and President, Triad Pipe & Steel Company (retired).

He and Shelley have been members of Christ EPC for 26+ years. Gene is an ordained elder and served as Clerk of Session. He also served as a Sunday School teacher for the B.A.S.I.C. Class. Gene is a Board member and former Chairman of Camp Eagle Christian Camps. Gene’s wife Shelley is an active Board member of Holly Hall Retirement Community.

Gene and Shelley have 4 married children and 13 grandchildren. They have lived in Houston since 1972.

Robert R. Voorhees, JR., Treasurer

Robert was the Chief Financial Officer and a Managing Director for a privately held energy company based in Houston, Texas for over 30 years.

 He has been a member of Christ Presbyterian Church (formerly Christ Evangelical Presbyterian Church) in Houston for 20 plus years where he has served as a deacon, an elder and on numerous committees. Robert and his wife, Amy, have been active members of Community Bible Study since 2000, and they have had various leadership roles in that ministry. Robert has also served on the Scripture Awakening board, a ministry that focuses on reading and studying the Bible, and The Gathering of Men board, a ministry that disciples men to maturity in Christ. He and Amy (both LSU Tigers) recently moved to a slower paced life in Brenham, Texas after being long time Houston residents. They have been married for over 45 years and are blessed with three adult children and seven grandchildren.

Dr. David Huang

David is the Chief Medical Officer of a biotech company, Peptilogics, and is an Emergency Medicine Physician at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Houston, Texas.

He is the Associate Pastor of Faith Fellowship Church, an Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church. His current duties at the church include regular preaching. In addition, he serves as a volunteer medical missionary to many developing countries over the past 25 years.

David is also the Founder and President of the nonprofit, Harvest for the Hungry, Inc., a nonprofit located in Freeport, Texas, with the mission of growing local healthy farm to table food for those struggling with food insecurity.

David was born and raised in Houston, TX David and his wife, Susan were married in 2017. Susan is a general dentist and a dental missionary to developing countries. David and Susan are proud parents of Isabella and Phoebe. 

John T. Mabray

John T. Mabray grew up in Monroe, LA, as a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church (EPC). He is thankful to serve as Associate Pastor of the church of his childhood. John is a graduate of Southern Methodist University ('79) and Columbia Theological Seminary ('82).

 John previously served as pastor of Covenant (1987-1996), then served as Pastor of Rivermont Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Lynchburg, Virginia (1996-2010). John returned to Covenant in October of 2010.

 He and his wife, Catherine (also from Monroe) are the blessed parents of three adult children and seven grandchildren.

 When John is not in the pulpit or study, he loves to be in the woods or on the water, hunting, fishing, walking his dogs, and otherwise enjoying the wonders of God's creation.

Perry Waughtal

Perry is the former Vice-Chairman and CFO of Hines, as well as the former Chairman of Songy Highroads, LLC. He is Chairman of the Board of Highland Resources, Inc. and a director of Kinder Morgan, Inc. In addition, Perry is a former board member of United Way Gulf Coast and of Campfire Girls. He is a former trustee of his alma mater, Augustana College, Rock Island, IL. Perry and his wife Terrie have been members of Christ EPC, Houston, TX since 1998. He is an elder in the church and Chairman of the CEPC Foundation. He also chaired the building committee at the time of the church’s construction 2000 – 2004. He is also a past chairman of the church’s Finance Committee. Perry and Terrie have been married for 41 years. Together they have 6 children, 9 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. They reside in Houston, TX.
